If spring inspires renewal, autumn is the season for reflection.
Never has that seemed more obvious or necessary than now. The year 2020 has already etched itself in our history as an “anno horribilis” for the ages. Against the backdrop of a once in a century pandemic, we have experienced civil strife, climate calamities, and political division on a massive level.
And now, autumn approaches. What will the closing months of this year have in store for us remains to be seen? Will passions cool? Will a vaccine come in time to stop the virus in its tracks? Will Mother Nature rally renew herself?
Who knows?
As summer slips away, It’s instructive to pause and ponder where we have been and what we have learned. All cliches are valid; otherwise, they would not be cliches. Upon reflection, then consider this. Whatever comes next, it remains true - cliched or not - that we are all in this together.
Stay safe
